Likes, Links, and Clicks

1. Dave is heading out on a camping trip with the guys tomorrow so I’m having a sleepover with some girls from our Sr High youth group. I’m so excited for a good old fashioned night of popcorn, movies, nail polish and hopefully lots of giggling!

2. Today finishes out the 2nd week of Huset Fitness and while I’m not making any dramatic changes, I am eating better and am more fitness conscious than I have been all summer. I did this squat challenge and the original last night and oh Jelly Legs it is a good quick killer workout.

3. I ordered my first pair of (faux) leather pants to add a little edge to my capsule and now I need some tips on how to style them. I’ve been filling a cart on ThredUP and I’m about ready to thin it out and order. I love the ability to get clothes from the brands I love from an online consignment style site. I also have been weeding out my closet and stuffing the nicer stuff in one of the ThredUp bags to send in and see how much of it they’ll buy from me. Fingers crossed!

4. The darker side of travel. Everything has it’s payoffs. Since the harder parts of life don’t make a good picture, it’s no surprise that extends to travel grams.

5. The picture above is of a huge pot of red geraniums we bought last weekend at the farmer’s market for $8. The flowers i put in our hanging basket by the front door back in the spring had died, so we “splurged” and they are so pretty. I love flowers in the summer and the farmers market is the best place to get them until I grow them myself.

Clickity click your way through a case of the Mondays

Mondays tend to be the longest day of the week for me. I’ll hopefully have a few pictures from our out east adventure soon, but until then  I’ve collected a few of my recent favorited from around the web to help you through your day as we get back on track after the long weekend.

This playlist is so peaceful and unobtrusive enough to listen to while working.

I made these last week and we loved them. Threw in a side of our favorite fries and it was winner winner chicken dinner. literally.

I’ve been so burned by people who think they know and hold the only version of religion that is true, that I tend to the other extreme and don’t stand up for what I believe. This resonated with me and helped me think through this topic a bit more.

Oh my. This had me chuckling for a while.

I’ve loved J.Crew for a while but this year I think the vast majority of things I’ve added to my closet have been the product of their Factory Store sales. I ordered this (in gray) and these last week (plus my favorite romper in black) and am excited for their arrival this afternoon. I love their style and their prices aren’t bad when I know the quality will hold up much longer than others and are mostly classic. For now I’ve found my fashion soul mate.

After the bathroom refresh, I’m gathering my strength and enthusiasm for the next project — the kitchen. I know this one is a bigger and longer endeavor, so I’m giving myself a little break before we jump into it. That hasn’t stopped me from creating a Pinterest board to collect some inspiration.
